I am sociable and determined
I wonder what my future holds for me
I hear my name being called to receive my diploma
I see the life that I will accomplish because of all my hard work
I want a life of less worries and more contentment
I am sociable and determined

I pretend that nothing bothers me
I feel that I’m at the climax in my life
I touch the hearts of anyone that crosses me
I worry that I have too many worries
I cry because I wonder if I would make it to the end
I am sociable and determined

I understand God is on my side and will never let me down
I say a woman should never have to rely on a man especially if she can do it herself
I dream for success
I try to make my father feel like he has done a great job as a single parent (which he really has)!
I hope time doesn’t pass too fast
I am sociable and determined

Full day at Hunt Elementary

My recent visit at Hunt Elementary was one of the most experiencing visit of any of my other. I decided to stay for an entire day instead of leaving after lunch. I thought to myself the whole was going to be hectic. In actuality the whole day made my day go by a lot faster and I really learned more of how the children act and how the teacher proceeds with her lessons every day. While I was there the children went to P.E. a little after they got out of class. So while the children were gone I being to form a bond with my teacher. We had discussions about the students, teaching strategies, and how she got to the point where she is now as a teacher. Once the children came back they were a lot not as energized as they usually are because they were kind of tired from their workout. We did more school work until dismissal.

Superman Panel

After watching the wonderful educational movie Waiting for Superman, I believe the best part of the experience was the discussion panel. As I sat and listened to the debates going on throughout the panel and members of the audience a serious question roamed through my head all day. Dr. Crocker made a statement for the audience to think about. She said “Are we poor because were uneducated or are we uneducated because were poor?” I believe both parts of the statement can relate to society.
Many people are at their very lows because they decided education wasn’t good for them. When it comes to some people being poor it is because they didn’t meet the requirements of getting a job when it came to the educational requirements. Also some people can get talked out of their money especially when they are uneducated about topics such as politics and so on.
The part about are we uneducated because were poor is a broad topic. Many believe the upper-class people buy their way out of everything. The more money put into the school systems the better education you would receive in my opinion just because you have more and better resources. So being poor could actually hold you back from trying to further your education which would make you be uneducated about life.

Visionary At Its Best

Classrooms set ups have changed over years. Back in the days a computer wasn’t even thought of yet. Technology has advance majorly over times. Also more materials were bought to man such as decorations for a classroom setting. I vision a 21st century classroom like no other. I’m an Early Childhood/ Special Education major so I expect the classroom to be more for children between the ages of five through ten. I expect the floor to have an alphabetical or numerical carpet on the floor. Then I see a station of laptops because children now know the most about the recent technology equipment that comes out. Then there will be other booths spread throughout the room with learning activities that the children could choose from. I smell the scent of when you buy new things and cleaning scent because everything has been cleaned down. Lastly I hear the sounds of children full of excitement because they have been put into a new environment.
